A Case of Acrodermatitis Enteropthica

Abstract
Acrodrmatitis Enteropathica is well established disease by Danbolt & Closs (1942) and other authors. The disease is charaterized by chronic intermittent diarrhea and various type of skin lesions, such as seborrheic dermatitis type eruption, alopecia, stomatitis, paronychias, nail dystrophy and occasionally developes vesico-bullous lesion with high incidence of Candida albicans infection of the skin, and emotional disturbance occur.
A case of acrodrmatitis enteropathich occurred in a 12 months male infant showing a typical skin lesions of acrodrmatitis enteropathica and chronic intermittent diarrhea.
Microbiological examination of the skin revealed candida albicans and staphylococcus aureus.
During the admission in hospital, the patient was not administered diodoquin and expired 9th day of admission.
Direct cause of death presumably was general malaise and pneumonia.
Autopsy was not done.
